House of Hope - Assistant Director

The House of Hope (Casa de Esperanza) is an orphanage in Bavaro, Dominican Republic that provides a safe, loving, nurturing home for 13 girls. Our goal is to raise the girls to know Jesus and become equipped and empowered to reach their full potential in life. The House of Hope is part of the mission and vision of 2nd Mile Missions ( This position is a full time position located in Bavaro, Dominican Republic.


  • Oversee daily activities of the House
  • Work as a team with the Tia’s and the Psychologist regarding discipline, spiritual growth, and character development
  • Create a monthly character development program
  • Evaluate academic needs for each girl and provide tutoring when necessary
  • Plan and recruit leaders for weekly and summer activities (sports, crafts, bible studies)
  • Plan and oversee any outside field trips
  • Oversee the plan for the older girl’s education, employment and transition out of the house
  • Supervise needs of the staff and house (food, clothing, health and hygiene)
  • Oversee medical needs of each girl (dental, vision, medical checkups and immunizations)
  • Attend staff meetings

Administrative responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings for CONANI and fulfill all required reports
  • Organize and oversee the girl’s documentation and official paperwork
  • Create monthly report of activities for the President, Vice president, and Board
  • Receive sponsors who visit and share the vision and mission of the HOH and 2nd Mile Missions
  • Seek sponsorship or donations from local individuals or businesses
  • Provide stories, photos and special interest communication for the sponsorship program
  • Provide any administrative help for the President


  • Be fluent in both Spanish and English
  • College degree
  • Have a valid drivers license
  • Proactive, self-starter, willing to learn new things
  • Called by God, committed to serve and willing to help maintain a Godly Christian home environment for girls with various needs
