Our vision is to break the cycle of poverty by providing resources that will lead a child into a relationship with Jesus Christ and offer hope for a healthy, independent life.
Our Mission:
2nd Mile Missions provides a four phase child development program that describes our commitment to the children we serve. We desire to provide education, medical assistance, leadership development and spiritual enrichment.

We are called
Without a doubt, God called Rod and Nancy Wildman into full time ministry in 2nd Mile Missions. Every day God calls people to participate in the ministry to the people of the Dominican Republic that we serve. Whether individuals go on a mission trip, collect and organize donations, or serve on the mission board, God has chosen each person to fulfill His purposes in the ministry.
We are Christ centered
Our first priority is to follow Christ. “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17
We are committed to children
To transform a culture we believe you start with the children. To know Christ at a young age allows children in poverty to have a hope for a God centered future. Children are very teachable and very influential.
That is why Jesus told his disciples: “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth; anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Luke 18:16
We are church based
2nd Mile Missions is partnered with a local church where the work is done. Our hope is that the church in Bavaro will be able to independently sustain the ministry in the years to come.
