Leadership Development
This phase of our plan is currently under construction because the 2012/2013 school year will produce our first class to graduate! However there are three strategies to develop our students to become independent Christian adults.
College Scholarships: A student who has the academic ability and desire to pursue a career that requires more education will be able to apply for a scholarship. Students will be those already enrolled in our child development program, graduate from 2nd Mile Education Center and provide an essay stating why a college education is desired. Individuals will be able to choose a student to provide a scholarship from the list of applications. Individuals who provide scholarships will agree to renew the scholarship for up to 4 years.
Job Placement: Students who choose to work after graduation will be given assistance in finding suitable employment.
Micro loans: Some students who have taken trade classes will choose to start working in their area of interest after graduation. If a student chooses to apply for a micro-loan to start their own business, they must first complete one year of apprenticeship with an approved employer and show responsibility and leadership
abilities.
